Grace is an award-winning filmmaker whose work playfully uses cinematic form to explore the role socio-political forces play in our daily experiences. Her films have presented at international film festivals and gallery spaces including Camden International Film Festival, DOC NYC, Hamptons International Film Festival, BFI LFF, Sheffield Doc/Fest, OpenCity Film Festival, The ICA and The British Library. She regularly works as a filmmaker for the Emmy and BAFTA award winning Channel 4 Film Fund directing short films that explore online radicalisation and democracy in the digital age. Her mid length film ‘Speak to Me’ was selected for the 2018 British Council presentation of films, and her 2015 short ‘Here We Are’ was showcased at BAFTA when she was selected as a BAFTA Star of The Future.
Alongside her filmmaking practice she is a lecturer on the UCL Public Anthropology’s Ethnographic and Documentary Film MA and screening committees for various film festivals. She is an alumni of the National Film and Television School, UK, and the recipient of fellowships from the Points North Institute, BAFTA, and UnionDocs. She was a 2022 SPACE Artist Award and an Arts Council DYCP grantee for 2023-2024.
Her most recent short, THE FAMILY STATEMENT (Vimeo Staff Pick December 2023) premiered in competition at Sheffield Doc/Fest and was released on Field of Vision in November 2023. She is currently making her debut feature with the support of Catapult Film Fund, the Points North Institute, Chicago Media project, the British Council and BAFTA.
